DESCRIPTION:Classes are held Wednesdays and ThursdaysOctober 7\, 8\, 14\, 15\, 21\, 223:30 – 8 PM EDT  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn-Person ASMTC \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Course\n\n\n\nThe AGC Advanced Safety Management Training Course (ASMTC) provides construction safety and health professionals with the next–level knowledge required to successfully manage a company–wide safety program. \n\n\n\nMoving beyond the basics of Focus Four training\, this 24-hour course will give participants a more holistic view of safety’s role in project and company success\, as well as advanced tactics and best practices for managing all aspects of a corporate safety program. \n\n\n\nParticipants will also focus on the importance of “selling” safety throughout the organization and methods to generate buy–in from different audiences. \n\n\n\n\n\nTechnology and ParticipationFor the classroom: \n\n\n\n\nPlease have Zoom downloaded.\n\n\n\nComputer with dual monitor preferred.\n\n\n\nLaptop is good with a separate tablet to access their etextbook.\n\n\n\nTablet or phone is ok with hardcopy textbook\n\n\n\nTwo mobile devices ok – one for the meeting and one for the e-textbook\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor participation: \n\n\n\n\nThis safety course requires you to be stationary. No driving during the course is permitted.\n\n\n\nCamera\, either built in or added on and ready to stream to the classroom.\n\n\n\nHeadphones or earbuds with microphones are preferred\n\n\n\nComputer/device mic and speakers are ok if in private\, quiet room.\n\n\n\nEach student should be on their own computer/laptop/tablet\, if possible. Jim was instrumental in creating the first ever Construction Safety degree plan at Keene State University that awarded degrees to its first graduating class in 2019.Jim currently serves as the Chairman for Government Affairs on the Associated General Contractors of America National Safety Committee. Jim is also the Co-Chairman of Associated General Contractors Crane Task Force and is a national stakeholder in this subject area. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStephen M. MavityPartner\, Fisher Phillips LLP | Founder – Workplace safety and Catastrophe Management Practice Group \n\n\n\nHoward has provided counsel for over 620 OSHA Fatality cases and 225 occasions of union activity or collective bargaining\, as well as assisted in internal investigations\, mergers and acquisitions\,  and counselling on day-to-day safety and personnel matters. He has also been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 2017.Howard has been active with the AGC National Safety Committee for almost 30-years and has spoken at 25 AGC Chapters as well as other industry groups. He has spoken to multiple Georgia Tech undergraduate and graduate or executive classes on safety and legal subjects\, as well as at Emory’s MBA program. Howard was appointed to Federal workplace drug testing committees in the 90s and early 2000s\, and assisted in drafting six states’ employer drug testing laws\, as well as the ADA.

While a professor at Purdue University in the School of Construction Management professor she partnered with contractors for research in the development\, facilitation and  assessment of training. IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes quality of continuing education and training. \n\n\n\nIn order to qualify for CEUs\, participants must: \n\n\n\n\nAttend the course for at least 95% of instruction time.\n\n\n\nComplete the course assessment via the AGC Learning Center with a score of 75% or greater.
