About the Course

Technology and Participation
For the classroom:

  • Please have Zoom downloaded.
  • Computer with dual monitor preferred.
  • Laptop is good with a separate tablet to access their etextbook.
  • Tablet or phone is ok with hardcopy textbook
  • Two mobile devices ok – one for the meeting and one for the e-textbook


For participation:

  • Camera, either built in or added on and ready to stream to the classroom.
  • Headphones or earbuds with microphones are preferred
  • Computer/device mic and speakers are ok if in private, quiet room.
  • Each student should be on their own computer/laptop/tablet, if possible. This will aid in learning and working within breakout groups during the course.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given to cancellations made 14 calendar days prior to the class kick-off. After such time, no refunds will be given. Replacements are acceptable and must be submitted via email to rockkie.dunton[@]agc.org.

Transfer Policy: All transfers must be to courses starting within 90 days of the original course start date. Send transfer requests to rockkie.dunton[@]agc.org. 

AGC reserves the right to cancel programs up to 10 days prior to the start date if a minimum number of attendees is not met.

Meet Your Course Instructor:

Dan Russell, CM-BIM, CM-Lean, LEED AP

Dan Russell started his career in 1987 using AutoCAD for concrete formwork design. Dan is currently the President of Practical BIM Solutions, which provides training and consulting services to contractors to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Before this role, Dan spent three years with Sturgeon Electric as their BIM Manager and had a 23-year career with Sundt Construction.

Dan is a recognized national speaker on Building Information Modeling (BIM), LEAN Construction, and VDC, speaking at many AGC, AIA, FHWA, and other industry functions and educational institutions. He is one of the primary authors of the “AGC Contractor’s Guide to BIM” and helped develop the AGC BIM Education Program. He is also an instructor for the AGC BIM and LEAN Education Programs.
