Never developed a schedule, but work with them all the time? This class will review the definitions and development for schedules through an introduction to MS Project. By the end of this class, you will understand scheduling terminology and be able to develop, print and update a simple schedule.
The schedule is a key tool used to communicate to all stakeholders on the project and create both big and small snapshots of actual and planned progress. Learning MS Project will assist construction leaders in being more efficient and more effective.
MS Project is becoming more popular as a scheduling tool due to its availability for all levels of construction companies.

Who should attend: Project managers, project engineers and field supervisors who need to make or update schedules and are newer to using MS Project.
Learner Take-aways:
- Review basics of scheduling from history to now
- Define terminology used in scheduling
- Outline scheduling best practices
- Demonstrate MS project software
- Apply MS Project to sample project
Technology and Participation
For the classroom:
– Please have Zoom downloaded.
– Computer with dual monitor preferred.
– Laptop is good with a separate tablet to access the materials.
For participation:
– Camera, built in or added on and ready to stream to the classroom.
– Headphones or earbuds with microphones are preferred.
– Each student should be on their own computer/laptop/tablet.
– Ensure you have MS Project software downloaded and logged in.
Cancellation Policy:
A full refund will be given to cancellations made 14 calendar days prior to the class kick-off. After such time, no refunds will be given. Replacements are acceptable and must be submitted via email to rockkie.dunton[@]agc.org.
AGC reserves the right to cancel programs up to 10 days prior to the start date if a minimum number of attendees is not met.

Daphene is passionate about developing workforce in the construction industry by increasing individual expertise. Daphene has been teaching AGC courses since 2000. She brings over 20 years of construction industry experience on commercial and industrial projects. While a professor at Purdue University in the School of Construction Management, she partnered with contractors for research in the development, facilitation and assessment of training. She currently teaches virtual, hybrid and in seat courses in Project Management, Field Supervision and Construction technical areas.
